£3.5m Submitted – Arsenal Completed Deal For Brazilian Forward

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal look ready to re-sign Brazilian forward Wellington Silva, and then sell him again to Bordeaux.

In what has to be one of this summer’s most confusing transfers, Arsenal will activate a buy-back clause in Silva’s contract before sending him off to Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.

According to reports from Brazil, Arsenal inserted a clause that’d give them 50% of Silva’s economic rights when he re-joined Fluminese.

Silva had an amazing time in Brazil and has been at the centre of attraction for many European clubs. Bordeaux are desperate to sign the forward and are willing to cough up £3.5m to Arsenal.

While Arsenal will be buying the player back, Silva is expected to move to Bordeaux straight from Fluminese and will not have go to North London at all.

The deal looks very strange but this is the norm in Brazil, where clubs share the ownership of a player with third parties.

As Fluminese technically do not own Silva, they have little to do with the deal. Fluminese are not in good financial standing and have to move the player on to trim their wage bill.

Silva has bagged seven goals for Fluminese this season.
