As quoted by The Liverpool Echo, Arsene Wenger has killed all rumors of a potential move for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in this summer’s transfer window.
The England international has been heavily linked with the Reds for some time and he seemed to be one of Liverpool’s main targets for this present current market.
Indeed, with his contract expiring at the end of the forthcoming season, it was thought the Gunners might want to sell him with him yet to sign a new deal.
Even so, that is yet to happen and Wenger seems confident that it won’t this summer either.
He said when asked whether he thinks the player will be leaving the club this summer:
“Yes. 100%, I expect him to stay. No matter the speculation, he will stay.”
A blow for the Reds, then, with it looking as though the midfielder will now not be at the club for 2017/18.
