Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Arsenal have been offered the opportunity to take Brazilian midfielder Rafinha from Barcelona in a deal worth £27 million this summer, as per Sky Sports News.
Rafinha – brother to Bayern Munich Thiago Alcantara – is a product of Barca’s talent factory La Masia youth academy and he rose through the ranks and broke into the first team set-up in 2014.
However, the 24-year-old has struggled to land a permanent spot in the first team but despite starting just 14 La Liga games last season the midfielder still managed to net 6 goals and provide two assists.
Due to him being benched for a long while, speculation has suggested that Rafinha may look for a move this summer in search of first team play ahead of the 2018 World Cup and he was evasive about his future when asked last month.
Rafinha is quoted as saying by Sky Sports:
“My future is open and God only knows what will happen.”
Barcelona management have publicly insisted that he would not be leaving this summer but it appears their private decision is quite different as Sky Sports claims that sources close to the players says the Catalans are ready to sell.
The news outlet says Arsenal have been offered the chance to sign Rafinha with Barca understood to be willing to do business if an offer in the region of £27m is put on the table.
