Arsenal are not relenting in their effort to improve their squad in the trasnsfer market and a new name has emerged on the Gunners short-list in recent days.
The Independent states Arsenal will go head to head with North London rivals Tottenham for the signatureof Manchester City’s highly rated 17-year-old winger Jadon Sancho, who is intent on leaving Etihad this summer in search of a club where he would be offered first team play.
Pep Guardiola’s side are determined to hold on to the teenager in Manchester but the numerous attacking talent in their squad, and their obvious determination to sign Alexis Sanchez from the Gunners, means it would be difficult for Sancho to break into the first team.
Arsenal and Spurs could offer the player a better chance in North London due to their strong history of giving youngsters the opportunity to break into the first team in recent years, where the Gunners have the likes of Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi as an attestation that young talent will get their chance.
City are adamant the starlet will be staying and will hope to negotiate a deal in the coming weeks but Arsenal will certainly be on alert.
