MASSIVE BOOST: Ozil Finally Puts Pen To Paper – £280,000-per-week Agreed

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal are reportedly close to agreeing to a new deal with Mesut Ozil after more positive talks, with the club hoping they can get him committed to a new deal shortly.

According to the Mirror, the Gunners have offered the player £280,000-per-week and while Ozil had been hoping his wage would be increased to £350,000-per-week, they are certain an agreement will be reached soon.

The German international has recently given an update on his future, insisting he is content staying at the North London club and claiming talks on a new deal would commence once he is back at the Emirates.

Ozil has also gotten along well with new signing Alexandre Lacazettte during the club’s pre-season tour, which looks to hold a promise for the future.

It now looks as though Ozil will choose to remain at Arsenal, a decision no doubt helped by Arsene Wenger’s decision to remain at the club.

There also appears to have been a distinct lack of interest in Ozil from other top clubs, and hopefully Arsenal can now get the deal done.

The report also claims Arsenal are no closer to reaching agreement with Sanchez, who is believed to have demanded £400,000-per-week in wages.

Apparently the Gunners may be tempted to sell if they receive an offer of over £50 million, as they risk losing him for free next summer.

The doubt over Sanchez’s future means Arsenal will not allow Olivier Giroud to leave for now, despite interest from Everton and Borussia Dortmund.

The France international will be needed, if Sanchez does depart, although Arsenal will also continue to try to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco.
