Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
According to quotes in the Express, Antalyaspor president Ali Safak Ozturk has confirmed they are negotiating a deal with Arsenal over a potential move for £20m-rated midflelder Jack Wilshere this summer. Wilshere’s future t the North London club is still in doubt as he is in the final year of his contract at the club and there have been no indication so far of an extension.
The 25-year-old was sent out on loan to AFC Bournemouth last summer in a bid to prove his fitness following several injury-plagued seasons at the Emirates.
However, after a few successful months on the South Coast, Jack’s campaign was brought to an abrupt end after he sustained another injury to his leg against Tottenham back in April.
Wilshere is now expected to be leave the Emirates this summer and the Express claim a price tag of £20m has been attached to the player after rejecting a cheeky £7.5m offer from Sampdoria.
West Ham and Swansea have also made the midfielder a target but it looks like a surprise club have now entered the race as Antalyaspor have confirmed they are in talks with Arsenal chiefs over a deal.
However, the clubs president, Ali Safak Ozturk, suggests Arsenal valuation means a transfer to Turkey is unlikely. He’s quoted as saying by the Express:
“We made an enquiry and are in talks but Arsenal want a lot for Wilshere. It will be a difficult move to pull off.”
The Express suggest that Wilshere would prefer to move to West Ham and Slaven Bilic is understood to be a great admirer of the player.
