Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
It looks like Arsenal are close to sealing a deal for a third summer signing according to the Express who are reporting that they are on the verge of signing Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.
Arsenal have been strongly linked with a move for the French international over the summer but Monaco are driving a hard bargain as they try to hold on to their title winning squad.
Leonardo Jardim has cashed in on several of his team this summer and it looks like they are intent on keeping Lemar after rejecting two offers from Arsenal.
However, the Express are quoting a report from The Sun that claims that an agreement has been reached in negotiations and are now closing-in on a £45m deal and that the 21-year-old is hoping to seal the deal today ahead of Monaco’s Trophee des champions clash with PSG in Morocco tomorrow.
Who knows how much credit can be given to this report as there is so much rumor making rounds these days and The Sun’s claim contradicts other reports that suggest the Gunners £45m bid has been rejected [via the Mirror].
He scored 14 goals and provided a further 17 for his team mates last season to help Monaco win the title and he’s got the potential to develop even further at the Emirates.
