Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
leThe AS Monaco wide player has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, with Arsene Wenger’s side submitting a series of rejected bids for the player. France’s Le10 Sport say that Arsenal remain the front runners in the race for Lemar’s signature, but are now set to face stiff competition from another Premier League contender.
Liverpool are pursuing the player as an insurance should Coutinho move to Barcelona, and they haven’t done anything concrete yet about that interest. Liverpool are yet to approach either Lemar’s entourage or Monaco with an official bid, and it’s just at the idea stage.
For Lemar to Liverpool to come through, even if the claims are anything to go by, Neymar needs to transfer to PSG, be replaced by Coutinho at Barcelona, and, in the meantime, Arsenal fail once again in their bid to sign the long term target.
And that’s all dependent on Monaco actually agreeing to release the player this summer. It’s safe to call this one a long shot.
