Breakthrough ! Monaco Boss Confirm He Will Be Selling Lemar To Arsenal

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Monaco’s unshaking decision not to sell Thomas Lemar seems to have weakened, judging by the latest comments from manager Leonardo Jardim.

The Ligue 1 champions have cashed in on several of their players this summer, including Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy and Tiemoure Bakayoko.

But they have always been insistent that Lemar was one player who would not be sold.

Arsenal have had three bids for the 21-year-old rejected, the latest one totalling around £45 million.

Arsene Wenger has always remained confident, however, that a deal would come through and there have been signs this week that the French outfit could be preparing for life without their star winger.

Adama Diakhaby transfered earlier this week from Rennes, an attacker who can play on the left hand side of the frontline, while Monaco are also now close to sealing a deal for Rachid Ghezzal – another player who could perfectly replace Lemar.

Speaking last week Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev insisted that none of their star player would be allowed to leave the club – but in a boost to the Gunners, boss Jardim has now hinted that there could well be further exit from his title winning squad.

“All the players who were important last season are important to keep for the club,” he said.

“But it has been shown over the years that it’s not always possible to keep the players, and you know how our project works.

“So our goal is to work well with players who will stay here after the transfer window closes.”

Kylian Mbappe is another player who have been linked with a possible exit from Monaco, with reports suggesting he has decided that his future lies elsewhere.

Despite all the speculation surrounding the likes of Lemar and Mbappe, however, Jardim says they are staying professional during training.

“It’s not only about [Mbappe], all the young players who were here last year and had a great season,” he said.

“Fabinho, Lemar, Kylian, we’re talking about them joining other clubs, but they stay focused.

“Of course, Fabinho and Lemar are older, they may be a bit more mature, but Kylian, even these last two days, he’s been working well. They know that the most important thing is the pitch.”
