Official ! Arsenal Announce Deal For Italian Defender

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

The Gunners have so far this summer acquired Bosnia full-back Sead Kolasinac on a free from Schalke and signed Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon in a club record deal of £52m.

Manager Arsene Wenger is still probing the transfer market for available players to sign before the transfer deadline at the end of this August.

Italian outlet Transfermarketweb claim Arsenal are trying to sign 23-year-old centre-back Rugani.

It is said that the north Londoners had two offers for the Italy international rejected last summer.

But Wenger and co are looking to finally bring him down to the Emirates before the current transfer window slams shut.

Rugani is currently contracted to Juve until June 2021 and the Serie A giants are not willing to sell.

But Arsenal could look to convince him on a move away from Italy by offering him more regular playing time.

Rugani only played 15 league games for Juventus last season.

Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi are Arsenal’s first-choice options at the heart of defence.

But doubts remain over the long-term futures of Gabriel and Calum Chambers while Per Mertesacker will hang his boot next summer.

Rob Holding has impressed since move to the Gunners but Wenger could look to add another defender to his ranks ahead of the coming season.
