No More Signing – Wenger Says

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsene Wenger has hinted that he will not be signing anymore players this summer, admitting he is having a difficult time selling the players he does not want.

After having an early start in the transfer market, it seems will halt with a whimper. For the past few weeks, Arsenal have been trying to offload their surplus players and have had no success.

Now according to Arsene Wenger, this will be his assignment until the end of the summer. “Getting players out keeps you as busy as getting people in, so I think I will be busy,” Wenger said, reports Football London.

The likes of Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy, Kieran Gibbs, Calum Chambers and Lucas Perez are allowed to take a leave from the Emirates, but none of them have been able to find someone ready to pay for their services.

With a boated squad, it’s important that Arsenal cash in on these players so that there is space for new players to come into in the future. Arsenal began the summer by signing Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette, but then spent weeks pursuing a lost cause in Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

There have been links with Nice’s Jean-Michael Seri as well, however Arsenal have yet to make a move for him. With two weeks of the window remaining, Arsenal are close to signing no one and are struggling to find interested buyers for their players. It’s far from an ideal situation.

Things can change very quickly, especially as the deadline draws closer. However, Wenger’s comments do seem to imply that he’s preparing to go with what he has.
