Arsene Wenger has finally on the status of Arsenal’s rumored move for AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar with only a week left to the closure of the transfer window.
The Arsenal boss have only been able to sign Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette so far with a couple of unwanted players being offloaded.
Wenger has refused to rule out the possibility of completing third summer signing, Thomas Lemar was expected to be one of the Gunners’ new additions.
However, the possible deal for the 21-year-old has lost its vigor in recent weeks following three offers from Arsenal which have been rejected by Monaco.
As a result, Wenger has now admitted that a transfer move for Lemar is unlikely to happen this summer.
“It’s dead because Monaco has closed the door.” the Arsenal manager said during his press-conference on Thursday
“They are still on cases like Mbappe and Fabinho. They’ve already lost Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Bakayoko, so Monaco is at a stage where they have closed the door.”
