Inter Milan are trying to sign Caen winger Yann Karamoh on loan despite the player having entered into the final year of his current deal, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Italian press reported earlier this month that Arsenal and Manchester City were also trying to bring the player to England but that Inter had beat all competition for the France Under 21 international.
It seems as though the Italian club are unwilling to meet Caen’s valuation of the player despite other clubs having indicated their willingness to pay the asking price. Instead Inter are Hoping Caen will extend the player’s contract in order for the loan move to come through.
Whether this leaves any hope for the Gunners, it is unknown. Karamoh is said to have his heart set on the move to Italy but so far no deal has been agreed despite the transfer deadline fast approaching with the end of next week.
If no transfer takes place, and the 19 year old’s contract is not renewed, interested clubs will have the opportunity of talking to the player in January about a free transfer next summer.
