French teenager Hannibal Mejbri has chosen to snub lucrative offers from Premier League clubs in favor of a move to Monaco, Le Parisien newspaper reports.
Mejbri had a trial at the Emirates in November last year, while his father confirmed that Liverpool had also made a huge offer when questioned by the newspaper.
The French publication however report that Arsenal were no longer interested in signing Mejbri as they had lost interest in the player after his week long trial in London.
Instead Mejbri’s father revealed that his son had to choose between Monaco, Manchester City and Manchester United, but he did not want to stay in England, and decided to sign for the Ligue One outfit.
The 14 year old is being coached at the famed INF Clairefontaine academy, where scouts from English and French clubs first noticed his talent. He will join Monaco for €1m (£920,000) when his time at the academy ends in July next year.
