Fanatik report despite interest from Besiktas, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not relieve Danny Welbeck of his contract with the club in this transfer window.
The Turkish publication claims the English striker is seen as a perfect fit for the Black Eagles, as they look to replace Cenk Tosun, but due to Wenger’s rigid stance, the chances of acquiring Welbeck’s signature are very slim at this stage.
With Arsenal selling Theo Walcott to Everton, and Alexis Sanchez on the verge of a Manchester United move, it’s understandable Wenger won’t want to sell another forward, and subsequently, the Premier League side will not consider any offer for Welbeck.
It was recently reported in Turkey that Besiktas manager Senol Gunes is an admirer of Welbeck and had named him a target for Tosun’s replacement.
Welbeck’s season with the Gunners has been hampered by injury, but the England international has in recent weeks been a regular face in the club’s fixtures.
Besiktas have also been linked with other Premier League forwards in recent days, including Islam Slimani, Wilfried Bony, Javier Hernandez and Diafra Sakho.
