BBC: Sven Mislintat Lands Petr Cech Replacement Bye Ospina

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea will reportedly battle for the signature of Atletico Madrid shot-stopper Jan Oblak at the end of the campaign.

As reported by The Express, the North Londoners are in need of a replacement for the ageing Petr Cech, who has been out of form this campaign, while Chelsea are wary of Thibaut Courtois’ desire for a return to Spain.

The Belgian International, who spent time on loan with Atletico earlier in his Chelsea career, has allegedly put contract discussions with the West Londoners on hold while he ponders his future in West London.

The outlet adds that Oblak, who has played in 29 La Liga matches for the La liga club this campaign, has a £88m release clause in his deal which sides could activate this summer.

Liverpool are also said to be interested in the goalkeeper and are monitoring the situation with Oblak, as the Reds also need a first choice goal-manner as a competition for Karius.
