Confirmed! Arsenal completes £65m deal for two first signings

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Arsenal may not have a manager at the moment but they seem to be on the verge of sealing two new signings after a disappointing season.

Arsene Wenger drew the curtain on his 22-year spell in North London as the Gunners finished sixth in the league, missing out on Champions League football for the second straight year.

Mikel Arteta is believed to be the front-runner in the race to secure the job but with the transfer window already open, Sven Mislinat and co are already trying to get some deals done before Wenger is replaced permanently.

Two players whom Arsenal has been rumored with an interest for this summer are Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Caglar Soyuncu as the North Londoners look to shore things up at the back and finally fix their defensive woes.

And Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has ignited the hope of the fans that a deal has been concluded after he liked an Instagram comment claiming they had signed.

The comment stated “Sokratis and Soyuncu is done” on Xhaka’s most recent Instagram post, which was liked by the Swiss playmaker.

While it is far from being a confirmation, it hasn’t stopped fans from getting excited at the idea of the duo moving to Emirates as they begin to plan life without Wenger for the first time in more than two decades.
