Breaking!!! Unai Emery reveals the Player he has not been Impressed with

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

When Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was signed last season from Borussia Dortmund, everyone involved at Arsenal had one thing on their minds: goals.

The Gabon international started life at The Emirates superbly when he signed in January, scoring 10 goals in 13 Premier League appearances.

After a full preseason with the club, his true goalscoring prowess were expected to be unleashed to England. After all, Aubameyang was the top goal scorer in the Bundesliga the season before he joined The Gunners, scoring the most goals in the league for 40 years with 31, and was leading the charts when he left.

However, in light of the expectation and hype that Aubameyang had at the beginning of the season, most Arsenal fans would agree that he has underperformed. He got the nod ahead of Alexandre Lacazette from new manager Unai Emery at the start of the campaign, but the Frenchman has found his way into the team, with the former Dortmund man moving to the left.

This snub effectively sums up the fact that he has not hit the heights that people were expecting from him. He has scored as many goals as Lacazette, despite starting the first three games of the season ahead of him. In fact, the form of his French partner has cast Aubameyang into the shadows somewhat.

Of course, four goals in eights league games, and two in the Europa League is certainly a very good return, and some may feel that the accusation of being overrated is unwarranted. But in comparison to what was expected from him, it is hard to deny that he has fallen short so far.
