Arsenal are looking for a much-needed three points this afternoon to put this past week behind us and keep in touching distance of both Leicester City and Chelsea in the top four.
Unai Emery rotated the squad heavily for our EFL Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool, whilst Wolverhampton Wanderers had midweek off.
The visitors are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, which includes winning 2-0 at Manchester City and three 1-1 draws.
The two teams confirmed for this afternoon’s game are as follows:
Bernd Leno; Calum Chambers, Sokratis, David Luiz, Kieran Tierney, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil; Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Dani Ceballos
Substitutes: Emi Martinez, Hector Bellerin, Sead Kolasinac, Joe Willock, Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli
The boss has handed Mesut Ozil his first Premier League start of the season following his excellent performance during our 5-5 draw at Anfield.
Kieran Tierney is back in the starting lineup as he appears fully match fit now. Hector Bellerin started midweek so has dropped to the bench today as he gets his match fitness back to 100%. Calum Chambers starts at right-back.
Nicolas Pepe has dropped to the bench as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette start in the Arsenal attack. As expected, Granit Xhaka isn’t involved in the matchday squad, so Lucas Torreira has been handed a rare start this season. He is joined by Matteo Guendouzi and Dani Ceballos in midfield.
Rui Patricio; Leander Dendoncker, Conor Coady, Roman Saiss; Matt Doherty, Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Jonny; Adama Traore, Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota
Substitutes: John Ruddy, Max Kilman, Ruben Vinagre, Taylor Perry, Morgan Gibbs-White, Pedro Neto, Patrick Cutrone
It appears that Leander Dendoncker will play in the back three following injuries to Willy Boly and Ryan Bennett. Nuno may be playing a 3-4-3 formation too, with pacey winger Adama Traore in the starting lineup, Raul Jimenez will play in the middle of the attack, with Diogo Jota on the left.
Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho will try to dictate the play from the middle of the park.
