Arsenal goalkeeper set to leave after being offered a three year contract

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Serie A giants Napoli are in motion to make an offer a three-year contract to goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, should he put an end to his contract with Arsenal this summer.

The Poland shot-stopper has endured two seasons with Italian club AS Roma as a loanee where he became critically acclaimed.

As a result of this, the 27-year-old has been called upon to  return to the Emirates this summer with David Ospina rumored to be leaving for Super Lig club Fenerbahce.

According to TalkSPORT, Napoli will present Szczesny with the opportunity to remain with the Serie A, a deal that promises to be mind blowing.

The report further stated that the player’s agent has already held meetings with the club’s sporting director to discuss the terms of the proposed contract ahead of a possible permanent move in the summer.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger recently said in a post-match press conference that the club had no need for the services of a goalkeeper due to the presence of the likes of Szczesny and Emiliano Martinez, but Napoli’s offer to the shot-stopper gave rise to Arsenal’s interest in him.

Szczesny’s contract with the Gunners has a year left in it, and his reluctance to recommit to the club could see him out in the summer.

The 6ft 5in goalkeeper made 181 appearances for the FA Cup finalists since his moved to the club back in 2009.
