Arsenal have midfield dilemma over Ramsey and M’Vila

Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering pulling the plug on an Arsenal bid for Yann M’Vila, The problem is said to be the attitude and disciplinary issues that the French midfielder could bring to the Emirates. Fulham, meanwhile, want Aaron Ramsey as a replacement for Danny Murphy, so Arsenal and Wenger have got some serious thinking to do.

The 21-year old French international was thought to be involved in a row with his coach Laurent Blanc after France lost to Ukraine against Sweden. He has also been criticized by Rennes’ former coach Guy Lacombe, who described the midfielder as a “loose cannon.”

M’Vila has also been involved in a number of problems away from football and has been in trouble with the French police. His discipline on the pitch does seem to be good and he has not received a red card since his third professional game. This is no mean feat for a defensive midfielder with 130 appearances under his belt.

I think it is the questioning of his manager at Euro 2012 that has concerned Wenger, as team spirit and togetherness are vital in the dressing room. Maybe Wenger needs to have a word with the player and outline what will be required of him as an Arsenal player.

The decision whether or not to sign M’Vila could have a crucial bearing on the future whereabouts of 21-year old Ramsey. He has struggled to reignite his promising Arsenal career after his horrific injury, but he did play 44 games in all competitions for the Gunners last season.

Wenger thinks a lot of the versatile midfielder but if he decides to buy M’Vila, he may be willing to listen to offers from Fulham. It is make your mind up time. Do you think we should have faith with Ramsey, or take a risk on M’Vila?

Ramsey is a great lad and he deserves his chance to show that he had recovered from his injury but I don’t think that he is the player he was a few years ago. It could be better for all if he moved to Fulham. I would love to be proved wrong but he was very patchy last season.

Arsenal scored over 70 goals last season but conceeded 49 which is a poor defensive record. So we need a player like m’vila to protect the back four. M’vila is the best player in the market at the moment. Sign him mr. Wenger i know you can handle his disciplinary problem. You have handled viera and others. m’vila is a small boy to control.please get rid of Ramsey yann is what we need. Alfred.

I think mr wenger should sign m’villa as soon as possible, we were having many player with such kind of behaviours but wen’t to be our heroes i.e vieira fighting ruud van nestelrooy after he was redcarded, i think m’villa has a long way to go and still have the room to improve both inn and off pitch under wenger.

I think Winger should go for mvilla as long he control himself in the pitch of play Ramsy is careless and is not a business like player but before selling Ramsey let him first of sell chamach, djourou, scholachi off load all the junk players and see if he can sell ramsey. am sorry for not saying bravo papay wenger for a job well done.

Buying M’Vila has more effect on Song than it does Ramsey. Song is our DM at the moment but isn’t as disciplined as M’vila when it comes to keeping his position and protecting the back four. Ramsey is more of a playmaker BUT Song weighted in with 14 assists last term. Soooo…the only way this effects Ramsey is if we were to give Song more freedom to play further up the pitch as a playmaker. Now considering Ramsey is a “homegrown” player AND the persistant rumours that Song wants a move to Italy then Ramsey could well be safe and Song is the one to move on….

You have admitted in your post that Song is better offensively than Ramsey. He contributed 14 assists as against a lower number from Ramsey. Song is also better defensively – without a doubt. If any one has to move on then, then it should be Ramsey.

I’m concerned about his attitude. I know AW can deal with all that as he’s done with Van Persie and even that twat Nasri in his time here but here’s the situation; no matter how good M’vila is, he’s by no means guaranteed a starting place in a squad of Wilshere, Ramsey, Arteta, Rosicky, Coquelin, Song and Diaby. How would he deal with that? Would he be professional and play for his space in the team?
If we have to move one of the younger guys for M’vila, my sentimental side doesn’t agree. Why flush Ramsey for just one average season after his leg just got snapped into two? Methinks its unfair. He’s playing himself back up to Arsenal level and I feel with pre-season and the fans getting behind him, he’s gonna be great for us next season.
What happened to him this season could also happen to Wilshere, if it does, are we gonna suggest that he should be sold? Let’s not forget that the lads have one season playing together under their belt already. Most of them are young and are learning from old heads like Rosicky and Arteta….and under AW’s tutelage, I just don’t see how they won’t get better. Frankly, I won’t be surprised if Giroud is our last signing of the summer. Especially if it has to involve Ramsey moving.

If thats the case then i dont think Wenger will buy M`Vila. Anyway i dont see why people pick on Ramsey, he is still young and i think the best thing would be to loan him out to another premier league club. Wilshere will be back to this season, what if he has a season just like Ramsey had last season, would you call for his head too? in two years they will both be world class, and there both thrue Gooners!

I think most Arsenal fans are becoming stupid, illusional and more stupid. Why are you all calling for Ramsey to be sold? He broke a leg into two for God’s sake :(
In 2010, Cesc got injured and Ramsey was brought to step up, he put up quirks class performances and Amidst all Fabregas to Barca rumors, fans said: “Let him go, Ramsey can do the job, and he’s British”. After reflecting back, its sad, selfish and disgusting to see fans call for his head after an average season back from a leg break, he needs time for God’s sake, he’s 21 and has time. If we can keep Van Persie and Diaby with their injuries for 5 years and even give them time to come back, why not Ramsey :’(

Get Dempsey from Fulham and let them have Ramsey.

Forget M’villa. The last thing we need is strife in the dressing room. Even if he “does his job on the pitch” a troublemaker just brings down the performance of the whole team over the course of a season. There must be better options available.

other than t6he prima dona that is Nasri, personally am of the opinion that the exchange with the coach was a sign that MVilla does hate losing. Arsenal has in the past been accused for their lack of spine, isnt this exactly what we want, another fighter? However i could be wrong, and if thats the case then we are better off without him.

Just a thought guys, nothing more

Have we ever stopped to consider perhaps it’s Song who is been shipped out of Arsenal and that is why M’Vila is a target?

It seems Arsene dnt know what is saying by listening 2 an offer of selling Ramsey…….Mvilla in arsenal have nufin 2 do with Ramsey except if Wenger is trying 2 be fooling us for not buying Mvilla bcuz he knows that fans will not be happy of selling a creative player like Ramsey……..Wenger dnt get us fooled

Is it every player that has a patchy period you sell off ? What if jack returns and he has the same problem we sell him off too ? That’s not how football works and I for one don’t see how ramsey and Yann relates , signing Yann affects Song and the Coq and if you’re talking defensively Cesc wasn’t all that defensive during his time with us . So I think we let ramsey prove his mettle cos I believe giving our backing and support like we did give him before his Injury he will come Good, No player will ever perform if he keeps on getting booes by his own fan ask WalcoTt what it feels like or you should have been in that stadium during our First half against SpUds it was horrible

  26. July 1, 2012 at 3:38 pm

Wenger just buy m’villa nd at d same time make ramsey a good player who can work with arsenal kind of football…
