Arsenal Player Hands In Official Transfer Request

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal and Costa Rica forward Joel Campbell has informed the club that he does not want to be loaned out again this season.

Campbell just recently returned to Arsenal to regain his fitness following surgery on a knee injury sustained during the Gold Cup. His previous season was spent on loan at Sporting Lisbon, and has now, according to the  Guardian, told the club that he does not want to go out on loan again.

Campbell has technically been a Gunner since 2011, but more of his time since has been spent out on loan than at the North London club. Failing to get a work permit, the 25-year-old spent time on loan with Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiacos and Villarreal before finally being able to play for Arsenal in 2014.

He played 40 games for the Gunners in two season, before he was sent out on loan again to Sporting Lisbon. By all accounts, his time as a Gunners player seemed at its end. With little hope of seeing any game time at the Emirates Stadium, it is quite understandable that Campbell would prefer a permanent deal instead of another loan spell.

Frequent loans can unsettle a players’ career. Now 25, Campbell will feel it’s about time for him to be a first-team regular somewhere else. It remains to be seen if a move will happen for him this summer, however.
