Arsenal rumour roundup – M’Vila, Giroud, Bendtner and Djourou

It might seem like a long summer for Gooners. The early signing of Lukas Podolski does not seem to be the start of a mass influx into the Emirates. There is loads of Arsenal transfer talk about Arsene Wenger tracking and talking to players but no deals look close.

There are two players linked heavily with a move to Arsenal who are in the papers today, Olivier Giroud and Yann M’Vila. 25-year old Giroud has had two great seasons at Montpellier and is thought to be seeking a move. The striker will not be talking to any clubs until he has finished his involvement in Euro 2012 and then is likely to be the target for Juventus, Bayern Munich and Fenrbahce as well.

M’Vila is another player who we will be waiting until Euro 2012 is over to know if he will be joining Arsenal. 21-year old defensive midfielder M’Vila is thought to be very high on Wenger’s wish list but if he has an impressive tournament, he is likely to be expensive. Financial sense might stop Arsenal bidding for him.

Johann Djourou could be on his way out of the Emirates as he wants to play regularly in his preferred position of central defense. He is probably fourth choice at Arsenal and there seems to be plenty of clubs willing to take him so I would be surprised if he is wearing an Arsenal shirt next season.

Nicklas Bendtner has also told his followers to wait until after the Euros, but that could be more hot air from a player that couldn’t find a new club last summer despite telling us he had lots of options. We’ll have to wait and see on that one, and possibly hope he has a good Euro tournament.

Mr. Wenger, M’Vila, Giroud are the players we need in Arsenal in order to convince RVP 2 sign a new contract. Get us this player’s and we will win trophies next season

Yes, Giroud is very strong in the air, but if signed, can Wenger employ the tactics that would suit his aerial prowess? Chamakh came with the reputation of being the best header of the ball in League 1, but hasn’t scored that many, because Arsenal don’t cross the ball that much. Even when he comes on to try and save the game, Arsenal continues to pass, pass, pass, other than resorting to crossing, to get the best out of him. The only time he scored last season, it had to be a cross Van Persie supplied during the 4-3 reverse at Blackburn. I think Mr Wenger needs to adjust his game a bit to suit ball-headers, if all our strikers (and the ones that may come in) are help in goal scoring stakes.

Then again, he should start giving playing time to his fringe players to keep them firing, because no player improves by sitting on the bench. I personally believe that if Wenger worked out a system that would accommodate both Chamakh and Van Persie, the Moroccan would’ve been able to recapture some of the form that made him a hit in the early stages of his Arsenal career. Now tha fans call him a flop, when it’s Wenger who made him become one, poor Chamakh! Therefore, as we talk about Wenger bringing in the likes of Giroud, we should also think of them being able to hold down some regular football, other than rotting on the bench!

Arsenal must sign three more players to get them back on track. An attacking midfielder, a defensive midfielder and another striker to support Van Persie. These positions must be strengthened for arsenal to challenge for trophies. M’villa, Dempsey and Giroud or Llorente. Please Wenger.

@patrick.. true that my fellow gooner, i too never believe that chamack or park are that bad,!! for xmple park how many game did he featured, less than five, as well as chamakh, what will do if RVP Played all 38 epl games, all cl games without even substituted., is that his problem or there z no place to entertain his heading skills, remember his record when he first signed 8 goals in 11 matches + 2 penalties,! that wasn’t an accident a player need a time to show what he have got,
our team need to buy without selling, or may be for unused like 2deffender u know who + nicky, i don’t think he will never be good at arsenal, he wanted to play and he play the whole season 35 matches only 8 goals..?? we rather make vermaelen a striker than him coz though he s a defender but he scored 6goals..! so guys we still need chamakh and park even if we are going to sign another goal machine, february is our lucky time and we need many option,,!
last season our time wasn’t bad but we only had 11 starting line up, so we only need some extra to bust up our scuady..!
    thats all..

As a Arsenal fan i don’t think Wenger will break the bank. Giroud seems like a Arsenal player and Arsenal transfer fee, Montpillier will jump at the chance to get Chamakh. M’Vila i think is probably out of the question. Wenger did want him badly and Rennes i think first said ok to 17.6mil but now has back tracked probably with Man City throwing 25mil. I dunno Wenger’s top transfer target is M’vila but if his priced out he wont buy him.

what we need is M-Villa, Marvin Martin and Fenando Llorente. We dont need Oliver Groud becos is a left footed striker like V. Persie………Then If we loose Djorou then buy Jan Vertonghen……….Then we are ready for trophy
