Arsenal have had a bid turned down for Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura, as per reports.
The Ligue 1 club could end cashing in on one or two player after £198m world record signing of Neymar from Barcelona, and it is suggested that Brazilian winger Lucas Moura could be amongst them.
According to UOL Esporte, Arsenal have had a bid rejected for Moura, but could still get him if they table an offer in the region of £27m.
With Neymar now at the club and other high profile attackers to accommodate, Moura’s is not guaranteed of regular game time. The 24-year-old has been a regular for PSG since his arrival in 2013, and despite putting up some decent numbers has yet to really establish himself as a key player.
Arsenal just so happens to be in the market for new wingers, with a firm interest in Monaco’s Thomas Lemar. Moura could be a good alternative, especially at that price.
However, therein lies an issue. It seems strange that PSG would sell for what seems like a stipend in a European market that is seeing fullbacks purchased for twice as much and £100m offers being offered for teenagers.
If a hugely wealthy English club indicates interest, they would surely ask for much more money.
