Our season has been dealt with yet another massive blow this afternoon with the news that Spaniard Santi Cazorla will be having his surgery at Sweden and out for at least three months.
We missed the Spanish playmaker for much of last season as well, and their form took a noticeable dip without him as he challenge fell apart in the second half of the campaign.
One of Arsenal’s most important midfielders, there is arguably no one else currently at the club who can offer Arsene Wenger’s men that kind of quality on the ball in that area.
As well as Cazorla’s injury itself, Arsenal will also rightly fear for their immediate future in midfield as the 31-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season, which could well mean his time at the Emirates Stadium is up.
Whatever happens, it’s clear Arsenal need a plan, so here’s a look at five potential replacements Wenger must consider to fill Cazorla’s boots…
Arsenal's Premier League win % since the start of last season:
With Cazorla = 65.2%
Without Cazorla = 46.4%
