Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Arsenal are reportedly competing with Liverpool and AS Roma for Real Madrid winger Lucas Vasquez this summer, who is intent on leaving the club in search of regular first-team football.
According to Diario Gol, the Gunners might be considering other options in the form of the 26-year-old Vasquez since a deal is not coming through for AS Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
The wanted winger is believed to be considering his future at Real Madrid as a result of a lack of starts under Zinedine Zidane and could line up for one of three clubs in the coming weeks.
Arsenal have been continuously linked with the Spaniard on and off this summer, but I doubt if the interest is genuine.
With Theo Walcott, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain likely not leaving the club this summer, the Gunners don’t need another wide man providing competition.
That’s not to say Vazquez isn’t a talented player, having scored and created nine goals in 12 La Liga starts last season, while bagging a goal and assist in the Champions League.
Liverpool and Roma have also been linked with his signature, with the latter, in my opinion, being most likely to sign him based on Arsenal and Liverpool’s needs in the transfer market.
