Manchester City are the only club interested in acquiring the signature of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez this summer, according to SkySports news reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The Chile international has been heavily linked with a potential exit from the North London club all through the summer but a deal has failed to come through for the 28-year-old so far.
Sanchez is already into the final year of his current deal with the Gunners and the South American could be leaving on a free transfer next summer if he refuses to sign an extension or move out of the club.
The South American was initially linked with a potential switch to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
However, Manchester City entered the race to sign the Chile international over the past month or so despite Arsenal’s unwillingness to let him go to a direct rival.
Sanchez started his first Premier League game of the 2017-18 season at Anfield on Sunday as the Gunners suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to Liverpool.
Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol confirmed that Manchester City are the only club targeting Arsenal striker Sanchez ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
“Alexis Sanchez was on PSG’s shortlist but they’ve landed massive deals for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News on Monday morning.
“That leaves Manchester City and they’re big admirers of Sanchez. He played for the first time this season at Anfield on Sunday.”
Sanchez found the net 24 times in 37 appearances in the Premier League last season as the Gunners ended up in fifth place in the Premier League table.
Arsenal have signed Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette and Schalke 04 defender Sead Kolasinac.
