The Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is currently in training with the Denmark squad ahead of the Euros, where his team are far outsiders in the Euro 2012 Odds – in a group of death that also contains Holland, Germany and Portugal.
But the Dane is hoping for a good performance at the Finals to help him find a new club, with the favourites so far to sign him are the German Champions Borussia Dortmund.
This could be good news for Arsenal, as one of the most wanted midfielders this summer is Dortmund’s Shinji Kagawa who has refused to extend his contract at the Bundesliga giants.
It seems obvious to me that Wenger should take this opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, by using Bendtner as a part-exchange for the young Japanese wizzard (plus a little cash of course).
Kagawa is exactly the type of creative playmaker (and goalscorer too) that Arsenal have needed since Fabregas and Nasri left last summer.
Who thinks the swap is a good idea?

That would be better we really need this guy he is capable to do what has being at the club
Kagawa is a different player to both Nasri and Fabregas. Kagawa is similar to Fabregas in terms of his midfield dominance and great vision and ability to play through balls with pin point precision. He also has the pace and attacking ability of Nasri. He would be a great signing and would fit into the Arsenal way of playing football, Borussia play with a very similar style. Don’t know why they would want Bendtner though due to them having a much more capable hold up striker already in Lewandowski. But if they want him then thats fine by me! Kagawa is worth £15 million maybe even 17/18. Just hope Wenger feels the same way.
man united are getting him not arsenal
If this deal went ahead it would be unreal! If Wenger captured Kagawa and M’Vila (looking less likely now) I would very happy!
ideal deal
That swap deal would be perfect. I hope it happens. Kagawa is a steal even at 20mil.
Totally agree with this as Arsenal need a creative winger with the potential to score goals.
Not since the days of Lyndberg & Peres have we had two dynamic wingers scoring goals for fun. Please bring those days back AW.
Kagawa is not a winger. Lyndberg’s real name is Ljungberg and Peres? Pirès?
Well, the swap will be great for Arsenal, if Wenger will be able to pay the rest of the money.
Grazie….my bad
Wenger dont do obvious! i am struggling to remember us ever doing a swap deal. i am sure there.has been but can anyone remind me?
i cant remember khawaza scoring for fun even in bundesliga which is half as physical as premier league….i dont mean he is not good, he is good but i dont think he deserves so much hype or we should shout so much for him…if we get him it is good but if we dont get him and buy some body else or somebody else from our team will step up his game then that is also good….we should not forget that we are gunner whatever happens we will always be a top team….
They should give us 10mill as well as Kagawa in exchange for Bendtner.
Bendtner is a great player if given the opportunity to play in his natural position.
Arsenal wont buy Kagawa because welack ambition. As long as Wenger is happy with Champions League place and not winning trophies we will keep buying cut-price youngsters on a wing and prayer. No ambition = No trophies. We need a marquee signing but will end up with bargain basement…yet again!
What about his wages though? United reportedly tabled around 85k / week and that won’t help reduce wage bills.
make the deal now.. don’t hesitate.. one blink and its gone..
Arsenal don’t need Kagawa – what Arsenal need for the creative midfield position is Iker Muniain from Ath Bilbao . He is double the player Rosicky is in that position and at 19 he can only improve at Arsenal and he can learn the EPL ropes . Iker Muniain should be the top priority followed by Yann Mvila / Belhanda , then Jan Vertonghen ,Gregory Van de Wiel , then Salomon Kalou and Giroud as back-up striker .
Clearout – Squillaci , Djourou , Denilson , Vela , Alumunia , Bendtner , Chamakh
Then we can start to believe that we will be challenging on all fronts .
