Arsene Wenger obviously wants to hold on to his Talismanic Dutch striker, but goalkeeping legend David Seaman doesn’t think that the club are doing enough to ensure this. “Arsenal have got to do more. They’ve got to offer him a great contract.”
Seaman himself moved from Arsenal to Manchester City, but the circumstances were quite different. He was at the end of his career and out of contract after 13 years and 405 league appearances. Also Manchester City were not title contenders then, but are now the team to beat. For Gooners everywhere, Arsenal losing van Persie to a Premier league rival would be a double blow.
Seaman told Talksport, “We’re in the Champion’s league now, so that’s a boost for the club and, hopefully, that should attract more players. But they have to make Robin a fantastic offer that will make him stay at Arsenal.”
What do we do? Pull out all the stops to keep him? Keep him for a year and lose him for nothing? Or cash in and re-invest the proceeds?

A.Pull out all the stops to keep him?
B.Keep him for a year and lose him for nothing?
C.Cash in and re-invest the proceeds?
C would be ideal but Arsenal won’t reinvest to a EPL satisfactory level.
B is not realistic because in the business sense you want a satisfactory return on investment. Arsenal always cashes in unless the Flamini debacle which was somewhat unexpected.
A. would be great and would send a msg to teams in the EPL and Europe that we mean business. The Salary Structure is the stumbling block. We pay fringe players money they would not get even if the played in npower championship. If we are to challenges for the title we need proper wages and not keeping to uncompetitive ones. By the way Arsenal are 5th on the EPL wage bill. problem is fringe players get too much
I would love RVP to stay but if he wants to leave then I think that we should allow him to leave ( providing we buy a quality replacement and settle the matter quickly unlike last year ) because nobody is bigger than Arsenal. We WILL always survive no matter who stays or goes. But he would be a fool to leave us because he won’t be loved anywhere like he is loved at Arsenal.
Everybody would love to see RVP stay, but we can’t compel him to stay but we must say Good bye if he want, and we will survive without him and with him. No body can’t measure how we love to him stay but you must know first if you out where everybody like you, you will go where everybody like viceversa.
