Arsene Wenger means serious business in the transfer market this summer having penned an extension to his contract with the Gunners. The Frenchman is reportedly looking to improve the quality of his frontlines and has indicated interested in the FC Porto forward, Yacine Brahimi.
The 27-year-old has two years before his contract with FC Porto expires and the club are seemingly ready to release him at a face value of £31m as the Portuguese club needs all the fund they can get.
The forward made 31 appearances with Porto last season, going on to score 7 and assisting 3 in the process. Not a regular on the first team sheet, the player struggled with his form and fitness many a time this past season.
The player, although full of potential, still has a long way to go before he can be considered fit for the Premier League
He bring no justice to his price tag and it would be a huge risk to sign such unproven player who is already approaching the end of his career.
Although Wenger’s mind cannot be read regarding this reported interest, but if the gaffer thinks he can re-mold the Algerian into a Premier League material, then he could be toying with his legacy.
