Arsenal has agreed to a club record deal with Borussia Dortmund for Aubameyang after two weeks of negotiations.
The Gabonese have nodded yes to a three-year contract worth around £180,000 a week, which would make him the highest earning player at the Emirates.
But Dortmund will only agree to a deal for the 28-year-old’s sale if they find a replacement and, with Arsenal striker Giroud not interested in a move to the Bundesliga club, they now want Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
With the transfer window closing at 11 pm on Wednesday, the Gunners face a race against time to secure the deal.
And research released today from online sportsbook LeoVegas Sport suggests the move may occur as late as the period between 8 pm to 10 pm.
