Del Piero to Arsenal? Don’t make me laugh!

Today came with the most idiotic Arsenal transfer rumour of all time, as Arsenal have been linked with a possible move for Juvertus’ Allesandro Del Piero.

The providers of the rumour are as unexpected as ever, because TalkSport have usually accustomed us with quality information regarding the transfer window movement, but this time they’ve made a complete fools of themselves.

Who in their right mind would think that Del Piero, who was a fabulous forward in his time but hasn’t seen a national team call-up in over 5 years and has been linked with a retirement, would make a move to Arsenal where Arsene Wenger has accustomed us to players which are young and will have a realistic market value when there contracts expire.

This must be called by far the most idiotic transfer rumour of the season, but moving on to more realistic news, according to today’s Mirror Football, the Gunners are due to make a £17 million bid for Rennes’ star Yann M’Vila as they look to sign the defensive midfielder with time to spare ahead of this summer’s EURO 2012. This is an excellent news given the fact that the EUROs will probably increase his market value and with it, the number of suitors.

Del Piero is a world cup winner… he’s a well known figure worldwide… so his arrival would boost the fanbase and merchandise sale… he could play a cameo role… and guide the youngsters.. if u ask me he still has what it takes to do a decent job… his game is not about pace.. he still has his touch and vision…

agree. would be a good signing. and del piero is still a very capable player and class act who would have an impact and be good for the squad.

He also gets paid more than most, if not all, of every player in our team. His wages alone would be ridiculous for a player who can only make cameos in a handful of games. Unless he took a good 70% wage cut then why would we pay a player as much as he’d demand for neglibile impact?

Crap Mo. That’s a nasty thing to say about anybody. Hoping he gets sold is one thing but hoping he gets his legs broken…?

Wow. Not just a bad fan but also a horrific person. Well done to you, shattering the momentary feeling I had that there was some good left in humanity.

Del Piero has a wage of 1 milion/year at juventus…..so its not that much…..i’m an juventus/del piero “maniac”,but if there is a squad that I would like to see Del piero playing, that its not Juventus, that’s Arsenal…Peace :)
