Brazilian midfielder Oscar touched down in China on Monday ahead of his eye-watering £52million move to Shanghai SIPG.
The former Chelsea man was mobbed by fans at the airport as he arrived to begin his adventure in the Chinese Super League.
Oscar is set to earn £400,000 a week in Asia, and the 25-year-old was all smiles as he received flowers and met supporters at Shanghai’s Pudong Airport.
He was wearing a club scarf and met members of a supporters club, who had been waiting to greet him with gifts upon his arrival in China.
Oscar’s big-money move away from the Premier League comes after he fell out of favour under Antonio Conte at Chelsea.
He had not started a game for the league leaders since mid-September and, despite playing 11 matches this term, made the decision to move.
Oscar’s switch to Shanghai SIPG is the most expensive by a Chinese Super League club so far, as he joins up with former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.
