Arsenal could be set to make an official offer for Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri in the coming days as per France Football.
The French publication reports that the Gunners may focus on signing Monaco winger Thomas Lemar before forging ahead for Seri. Manager Arsene Wenger has been monitoring Seri’s progress all through the previous season, with the Ivorian having being an integral part of Nice’s highly successful Ligue One campaign.
Roma are reportedly the front runners in the race to sign the sign the 26-year-old but Nice will not release the player unless the player’s release clause of €40m is met.
France Football reports that the Gunners will not be discouraged to pursue the player by this figure, but they could face a competition from London rivals Tottenham for his signature. The French publication says Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has considered Seri as a possible option to strengthen his midfield but their interest does not look as genuine as Arsenal’s.
