Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Tiémoué Bakayoko is one of a handful of AS Monaco players who have been repeatedly linked with Arsenal recently. There are several possible transfer floated between the two clubs, and earlier this month Sport Witness looked at the suitability of the players linked.
Bakayoko stood out as being just what just the Gunners need in defensive midfield. His presence in a defensive role would bring something to Arsene Wenger’s team, and, like Aaron Ramsey, he’s adept at sweeping the ball up and turning defence into attack quickly.
L’Equipe believe a deal could be done at around €40m to €45m, which is certainly within the grasp of Wenger and Arsenal.
Bakayoko refusing a contract extension will only make a summer move likelier. The player’s current deal ends in June 2019, and whilst that presents no immediate panic for Monaco, it would mean a summer exit is much likelier than if the player extended further.
