The Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong feels very strongly that the Tottenham midfielder Scott Parker has not earned the right to be included in the PFA’s shortlist for Player-Of-The-Year, and believes that Arsenal’s Alex Song should have been installed in his place.
As soon as Frimpong heard the news he went straight on Twitter and exclaimed: “Am Sorry But this is utter nonsense. How is Scott Parker choosen Ahead of Alex Song for PFA player of the Year. How song wish he was English”
He quickly followed that up with: “Scott Parker is A good Player Yes Agreed But Overall Song is better Scores more creates more better passing…#justsaying”
And then one of his followers (Janggun) gave us these stats for the two players: “@Frimpong26AFC…scott parker – 20 games goals – 0 assists -0 …..alex song – 41 games goals -1 assists – 14″
I think Mr Frimpong definitely has a point, but is he right that Parker was picked simply because he is English?

Man scott parker is the most overated player in football today.he is not even the best holding midfielder for england,Gareth Barry is better than him.Danny murphy is better than him,jack rodwell is better than him,fellaini is better than him,Morrison and Mulumbu are better than him,scholes,carrick and cleverly ar better than him,he got dominated by coquelin,stylian petrov is better than him,tiote and cabaye are better than him,even his teammates Sandro and livermore are better than him.So how did he get on that list and koscielny didnt?
Parker is a good player but that is ALL he is “good”. I think Song, over the last 2 seasons, has come on leaps and bounds and turned into one of our most important players. 14 assists from a defensive midfielder? Absoloute quality.
And yes I do think that Frimpong has a point. If Song was English the media would be saying he’s our lynch pin blah blah. If he was English and played for our national side Parker would be on the bench. I think Frimpong has made 2 very good points. But let’s not get this twisted folkes England will ALWAYS make a big thing of our own English players and why not? Just like any other country would make a fuss of their own players too…..

man u being on top of d league is also check their stats, how many PK have they won in their last 10 matches? I think 2ce more than d rest of other teams in d EPL, even arsenal dat plays smooth passong have only won 2 PK or 3 at most, the refs performances in EPL ds yr 4 me is very low i think things should done abt dat too. Needless to say song is d best DM in d EPL, if d PFA dont know, i know and it counts 4 me.
Spot on frimpong its just b/c song is not english otherwise he is way beter than parker
Parker was chosen based on his DEFENDING, not his goals and assists (and by the way Emmanuel, he assisted a goal on his debut for Adebayor). If Yaya Toure was not in the team, then yes, Song’s inclusion would be justified. And whoever said Jake Livermore is a better player, please go and watch him play. He’s nothing compared to Parker.
