I Will Stay! Sanchez Delivers Shocking Updates On His Future

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Alexis Sanchez is reportedly demanding for a ridiculous increase in his wage to remain at Arsenal beyond the next season.

If you do are not clear on why Arsenal are trying to tie down Sanchez down to a contract this could well be the answer.

The Mirror claimed yesterday that the Chilean is demanding for £400k-per-week to sign a new deal for Arsenal – with a difference of a whopping £125k-per-week from what Arsenal originally offered him.

This is notably more than the reported figure last month. Back then, everyone believed he was holding out for £300k-per-week.

The news is also surprising, as there had been positive reports from Chile suggesting that Alexis was willing to remain at the Emirates. There was a suggestion that the deal was progressing.

But if this demand is true, it’d kill the Gunners’ morale. They surely wouldn’t be willing to pay one player that much money. That shouldn’t be an indictment on their ambition, either.

£400k per week is the sort of money paid to player like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo . The only other place a player can be paid that amount is in China.

Some may see this as a ploy to force Arsenal to sell, particularly to Manchester City, who would probably be more willing to pay such wages.

Yet, as is their custom, Arsenal are unwilling to sell. At the moment, it’s looking like Alexis will stay whether he signs a new contract or not.
