According to the reports by the Evening Standard, Arsenal are ready to take the £20m-rated Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina off the market as Arsene Wenger is set for a major overhauling of his squad this summer.
The Frenchman’s future is still uncertain as his contract expires next month and he is still undecided whether he will continue with the club or bring his reign to a closure.
However, there have been indications that Wenger will have a busy schedule this summer as he gets ready to improve his squad following an impressive season.
Anew central midfielder is on the cards and the Evening Standard reports that Wenger has put his mind on Juventus’ Mario Lemina.
The 23-year-old transferred to Juve from Marseille in 2015 and is critically acclaimed in Italy but he has found it difficult breaking into Max Allegri’s first team on a regular basis.
Lemina has only had 15 Serie A starts in the last two years and the report claim that Juve are ready to cash in on him if they receive an offer of £20m for him.
Arsenal are yet to commence full negotiations but the publication suggests that Wenger is set to spend that on him and Lemina is also said to be craving a move to England.
The Gabon international would give the squad an added advantage and I feel he could take up Francis coquelin’s position in the team should the Frenchman linked with a move to Valencia
Lemina’s presence in the squad would increase the doubt over Jack Wilshere’s future in the club as the competition in the midfield and his contract set to expire next year.
However, Arsenal aren’t the only club in pursuit of Lemina as Roma and Schalke have also been linked with a move for the Juve man so a deal is not going to be easy.
