Arsenal are once again targeting Southampton centre-back, Virgil van Dijk.
Liverpool were once the frontrunners in the race to sign Van Dijk, who Southampton are requesting £60m for. However, due to the saints’ accusation of fraudulent activities in the Merseyside club’s pursuit of the Dutchman, Jurgen Klopp has taken back his interest.
Southampton even reported Liverpool to the Premier League for tapping up, although it seems that they would not be penalized.
Enter Arsenal, who have also have a rumored interest in Van Dijk, although not as strong as Liverpool.
In fact, the Gunners could reportedly look to take advantage of the Reds’ mistake.
After signing left-back Sead Kolasinac from Schalke and Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, Arsenal are allegedly intent on improving central defence and Van Dijk is one of the centre-back in the league.
£60m is a lot of cash though.
The 26-year-old’s contract at St. Mary is valid for another five years.
