Arsenal according to the Daily Express, Arsenal have agreed a deal with North West club Bolton Wanderers centre-back Rob Holding who was impressive for Bolton in the Championship even though the club was relegated to the League last season .
The 20-year-old has been linked with many big teams in England in the past with Arsenal favourites to sign him.Holding was so impressive last season that he was eventually voted the Club’s Player of the Year by fans of the club at the end of the season.
What this news mean is that Arsenal have beaten the likes of North London rivals Tottenham and Merseyside club Everton to the youngster’s signature. As an England Under-21 regular , Holding has shown a lot of promise and might be sent on loan immediately after this signing to gain first team experience before rejoining Arsenal’s first team.
Once the signing is confirmed by Arsenal, Holding will become the second summer signing of Arsene Wenger after the recent acquisition of Granit Xhaka who was recently signed for £33 million from Borussia Monchengladbach. Arsenal are in dire need of a central defender with the poor form shown by the likes of Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertersacker who it appears is slowly in decline and out run by young and quick players in the Premiership.
