Official ! Arsenal Confirm 2-year Lucas Perez Deal

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal currently have four strikers playing in the first team. Everton has been linked with three of them. The most recent link with an Arsenal striker involves Lucas Perez, a player that Arsene Wenger purchased but apparently have no plans for him, which looks absurd as the player impressed when given the opportunity last season.

Bids from as many as 7 clubs gone in for Perez – Depor & Newcastle as well as Everton, Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia, Levante & Galatasaray.

Perez joins Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck on the list of Arsenal players Everton have been looking to secure their signature this summer, and he is actually a good player. He found the net 17 times and provided a further 8 assists (off 1.7 open play key passes per 90) in his last season in Spain:

Lucas Perez, Deportivo 15-16. Good all-around output in the stats. Pacey striker, and a good finisher on the break.

In 136 Champions League minutes last season, Perez scored 3 goals and 2 assists, and bagged a Premier League goal even though Wenger spread his 265 league minutes across ten appearances (one start).

Being originally from A Coruna, the player probably wants to go home and return to Deportivo, but if he doesn’t, he’s good enough to start for Everton as it is currently made up.
