Arsenal are set for a busy time in the transfer market as the end of the transfer window draws close and it seems the Gunners are set to add another big name to their squad.
After acquiring the services of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette, Arsene Wenger has firmly decides to capture Monaco ace Thomas Lemar but has found negotiating with the French outfit difficult as they want to keep the core of their title-winning squad intact.
However, The Sun, citing reports from France, claims the 21-year-old French international has told Monaco he wants to be released to move to the Emirates this summer and the Ligue 1 champions are in discussions regarding a replacement.
Monaco are said to be negotiating a deal with Algerian winger Rachid Ghezzal, who is available on a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Lyon this summer, and Arsenal’s hope of landing Lemar is significantly boosted as a result.
A deal is only likely to be concluded after Monaco sign a replacement though and Arsenal may have to wait until the end of the transfer window to get their prime target, with it being extremely unlikely he’ll be brought in before the Premier League begins next Friday.
