Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger seems to have learned a lesson from the season which has just ended (or at least we hope so), as he made the first signing of the summer in quick and timely manner.
German striker Lukas Podolski not only comes with a bucket load of experience, skill and class to the team, but also with fresh belief and hope, and when it comes to a squad which hasn’t managed to win a trophy in over 7 seasons that’s probably the thing they need most, belief.
“It won’t be easy as the Premier League is quite well balanced – certainly across the top six teams, who are all very strong. It will be difficult,” Podolski told Arsenal Player.
“But I have joined to win titles and trophies – that is my target. I will do my very best to be successful with Arsenal.
“They play fast in England, score lots of goals and there are tough battles.
“I enjoy this style of football, so from that point of view I think I will adapt fairly quickly. I’m a player who plays in a similar style.”
According to rumours, the hitman who the supporters have already started calling “Poldi”, was only the first of many successful signing Arsenal have in mind for the summer, as Wenger looks to monopolize the title fight next season. Do you think that the Gunners are on the right tracks for success?
Next season is Arsenals time. We hav given the other teams 7years and now we want what they took from us. I believe they gona be invincibles once again. Once a gunner, always a gunner.
Too early to say whether Arsenal will challenge for trophies next year but Poldi was an excellent signing. I feel that the squad lacks a disciplined defensive midfielder. As good as Song is he keeps drifting forward and leaving the defense exposed. Arsenal this season were not resilient enough to win trophies, they were always vulnerable. If Arsene fixes that problem with a player like M’Vila or Verthongen the squad might be in amongst the Manchester clubs next year.
wenger is no fool to seat & allow other clubs make better use of d summer and come out again and tell us we hv a good team. he have his plan though he has made mixtakes over d yrs. Poldi is a good player but let him stop all d boasting and concentrate on adapting to d epl quickly. Chamak said more than this when he came and ended up a flop. I pray he lives up to his words
I am pleased that you’ve accepted to join us but make sure to fulfill all that you have said about arsenal.We really need to win trophies next season in order to silence our enemies(Man U). It is not Podosky a lone but more skilled players.
