The injured Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna may be taking lots of muscle building drugs like Maxiraw creatine monohydrate to help rebuild his broken bones right now, but although he is rehabilitating, he is completely confident that his captain Robin Van Persie will still be playing for the Gunners next season.
There is a wall of silence from Arsenal and Van Persie over the contract talks between the two, although the Dutchman’s wife, mother, father and dog have all tried to convince Van Persie to stay, and now Sagna has given his opinion of the matter.
“I expect him to stay at Arsenal,” Sagna said. “I’m looking forward to starting the season with him. I know there is a lot of speculation about his future but he’ll just want to focus on the European Championship and then afterwards he’ll focus on Arsenal.
“He was our best player last year and the best player in the Premier League. He was magnificent and it was his best season for Arsenal so far.
“I hope he’s going to score even more goals next year.”
With the news that Arsenal have acquired the services of Lukas Podolski, and are in the process of bringing in Olivier Giroud, then if Van Persie simply wanted proof that Arsenal will challenge for trophies next season, then surely those two plus maybe Yann M’Vila will be more than enough evidence of Wenger’s ambition….

As far as I am aware RvP still has 12 months on his contract. If the prime mover, as has been suggested, is silverware rather than money, what would a front line (rotation) of RvP / Podolski / Giroud be like next season?
If as good as we all hope, why wouldn’t RvP sign a new contract during the season? If Arsenal want silverware, then add quality to quality, not replace one with the other.
I for one would love to see Podolsli/Giroud/OX with RVP in a Berkamp role behind
if we get giruod ,ithink rvp would remain to bhang in goals when he wants
thanks sagna quike recovery!
