Arsenal lose out again………..over financial differences?

August 24, 2012
By

So this morning it would seem that the Sahin saga has taken yet another turn in what seems to be the player opting for Liverpool. I find this shocking as he so desired to want to come to Arsenal and play for us a day ago. Liverpool are paying him more but can’t offer Champions league. Its surprising how many player’s we lose out on because of money. Let’s face…

Arsenal in pole position for M’Vila …and maybe Sahin too?

August 23, 2012

Update on the Sahin and M’Vila saga. I reported in my last transfer article that Sahin was on the verge of signing for Arsenal and M’Vila had 3 teams to choose from (Arsenal, Tottenham and Zenit St Petersburg). Both stories have developed somewhat so here is the latest: The Sahin saga has taken a different turn now with Sky Sports’ Balague reporting that Liverpool have agreed terms with Madrid and…

Wages a big stumbling block in Arsenal’s Sahin deal

August 21, 2012
By

Although the negotiations between Real Madrid and Arsenal over the loan of Nuri Sahin to the Gunners seem to be coming to a conclusion, it is being revealed this morning that the Turkish international’s current wage deal at the Bernabeau is a staggering £120,000 a week. This figure is far beyond Arsenal’s wage structure and would certainly annoy Alex Song (who left while earning £55,000 a week) and Theo Walcott…

Biglia or M’Vila for Arsenal?

August 19, 2012
By

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he “might” bring in  a new signing or two after selling two of Arsenal’s best players from last season in under a week. The smart money is on a direct replacement for Alex Song, a defensive midfielder. The Turkish international Nuri Sahin is very likely to come to Arsenal for the season on loan, but I still expect Wenger to sign somebody to replace Song…

Arsenal face fan’s backlash

August 19, 2012

As soon as Arsene Wenger mentioned the possibility of Alex Song moving to Barcelona, I should have mortgaged my house and put everything I had on the deal going through. I just hope that the other part of his statement, that Nuri Sahin could come on loan from Real Madrid for a year, also comes true. This could well have been Wenger’s masterplan all along. Sell a player who has…

Nuri Sahin is coming to Arsenal

August 5, 2012

The last obstacle between Real Madrid’s Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin and an Arsenal shirt has been removed. There have been some pictures of the young midfielder in the Red and White but I remain unconvinced of their veracity. The reports flooding out of the Spanish media, however, have convinced me that the deal is done. Jose Mourinho is one of the great media manipulators and all pf the main Spanish…

Arsenal given the go ahead for Sahin

August 4, 2012
By

Yesterday Real Madrid Manager Jose Mourinho spoke about Arsenal loan target, Nuri Sahin. “The point is, he’s a young boy, he wants to play every match. He wants to be happy to play, he wants to play to be happy. If he stays, he’s not a problem for me, he’s one more solution.” “We leave [the situation] in his hands. Be happy. Decide what you want to decide, to be…

Arsenal linked with Real Madrid flop

March 22, 2012
By

Real Madrid’s semi-flop Nuri Sahin is now once again targeted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Arsenal and Chelsea have taken an interest in him again after losing the Turkish defensive midfielder in favor of Real Madrid last summer. Sahin didn’t get to show his skills too much at Real Madrid because he came from Dortmund with an injury which kept him away from the pitch for the better part…
