The Crappiest Rumour Ever, Or We Should All Stop Being Gunners!

June 17, 2012
By

This is truthfully a weird rumour to speak about, because it would mean that our chants and applauds for Arsenal are worth exactly squat, as today’s Mirror Football states that Arsenal have slapped a £30 million price tag on striker Robin Van Persie.

This is either an idiotic made-up rumour, or a very worrying thing for all Arsenal fans around the world. Arsene Wenger’s strict policies stop the club from bringing in top players if they come at a big cost (and they usually do), but they don’t mind at all selling their best players for profit…is this a club, a charity house for other clubs who want rip-off prices for top players, or simply a business for the owners?

I mean, if it’s a business, just say so, we’ll start wiring you money, each fan pays a quid or two each week, and we keep you from selling out top players! If it’s money you want, just say so! This way we can all make up our minds whether to keep on chanting for you or not, because this is becoming ridiculous.

It was okay when Fabregas and Nasri left, because the two simply didn’t want to play for Arsenal anymore, and it would have been idiotic to keep them, but now Robin’s leaving too? What next, Walcott, Vermaelen, Wishere, Song and Arteta and we may as well start hoping not to get relegated, right?

Why are you complaining RVP is not bigger than the club. Last season was a fluke how many other seasons has RVP been injury free? I would sooner the club grabs big money now for a player who could leave for free next season and who is likely to get injured and take longer to heal. As to Walcott he is to inconsistant better to let him go let the Ox play there and buy someone else.

It wasn’t a fluke that RvP played the whole season injury free. It was thanks to the horse placenta treatment that he had in Croatia. Believe it? No? See how he goes in the next season then.

Even this rumor is real, I won’t mind. Arsenal tried to keep RVP with their budget and vision. If RVP don’t want to sign contract, why not get some good money of him rather letting him go free next year.

There is already few more rumors going on signing new strikers. If not RVP then we’ll have someone who will take the role. And Vermalean should be our next captain who already said once on the media that he is for Arsenal forever.

And the most important thing, no player is bigger than club.

Van Persie was great last season. He’s been with the club for years and I really do appreciate him. He gave us one really good season though, I really feel that he is replacable and who says he won’t injure himself next season and be out?

No one says RVP is bigger than the club but world class players leaving Arsenal has become a trend due to Wenger’s useless policy and unambitious attitude. I hope RVP doesnt go to any club in England. So fans will still continue to pay the inflated price to watch the team so that they get money to share and we get no joy? If Arsenal were AC Millan, we would have accepted Thiago Silva’s bid. They would have even sold the silverwares we have if some team bid for them.

If the rumour is true …

I share the same view as Big Lebowski, I’m VERY wary about RVP’s fitness. I seriously see him signing a new deal and then managing 20 games a season until the next contract is up for discussion. Also with miraculous recoveries whenever internationa’s come along. There is no way I would risk it, not after having been frustrated for years with him.

Walcott should play every game like he did in the 2nd half against Spurs to justify the wage he’s on now, let alone get a pay rise. Walcott was another one doing the RVP rosta regarding injury absences -> until Chamberlain came along and made him pull his socks up.

I will gladly see Walcott go to another club if there’s one who would want him, it will totally expose Walcott for what he is and, I really believe, Walcott knows this himself and won’t want a move. He has it cushty at Arseanl and he’ll milk it until Chamberlain eventually takes his Arsenal place AND England place – then be another Almunia drawing a wage until he’s released.

If Ryo Miyaichi is put into the side then I can see Walcott’s days numbered even quicker. At 17, Chamberlain is already as good as what Walcott was at 21m in another season and after these Euro’s, you’ll see he’s better than the Walcott of now.

I also don’t think RVP will ever have another season like the one he just had. To me it looked only like a “come and get me, look at what I can do” or “give me a huge payrise and contract for 4 years Arsenal, see what you’ll be missing” …. Could have all been done sooner but he didn’t want to. He won’t want to make the effort again after the contract is signed. I feel sorry for any club who signs him … or Walcott. I just hope the money is reinvested in more worthwhile players.

Ridiculous comments from my fellow Gooners as usual. Walcott wont be leaving and he is one of our most vital players. His assist record speaks for itself.

RvP may leave and is a world class striker but remember a lot of his goals came from assists that made easy scoring opportunities. Players like Walcott and Song often gave it to him on a plate only for him too miss and then score a harder opportunity later.

Olivier Giroud will eat up all of those chances as he is a real poacher and at 6ft 3 with great aerial ability we can finally make use of crosses when forced out wide.

Sellin RVP is not our biggest problem.the problem is how wud he be replaced.our team only declines in quality every season. While other top clubs strengthen their.

£30 Million is not too bad but I would like to see us get more, maybe PSG will come calling.

I hope the money is used to strengthen the squad.

    @Arsenal1Again and everyone else.

First of all, Oxlade Chamberlain is 18, and will be 19 in August.

Also, there is a lot of flack going RVP’s way at the moment, despite him not having made any indication on whether he wants to stay or leave. There is a chance he could stay and then your statements like ‘it looked only like a “come and get me, look at what I can do’ will look pretty foolish.

The pundits may be overstating his importance to us last season, but the fans are definitely understating it. He scored 37 goals for us last season. Thats a lot.

I hate fellow gooners having a go at Theo. He is a good player who is getting better. To sell him now makes no sence. If we make the right transfer signing then i feel only the deadwood will leave. The club holds the cards. Forget the tabloid and wait and see

How do some of you watch our games and do not see how important Walcot is to us? How many wingers are able to make those assists he makes? Your ungrateful attitude is why we have a lot of average players. Now u are on RVP too? U want Theo to be sold and be replaced by Ox and u always complain of not having squad indept. U dont know what u want.

  15. June 17, 2012 at 7:22 pm

U wanted us 2 sell him 4 ten million if he wants 2 go let him go dude,u cant force him to play 4 us infact he shud go for 35 coz tats hiz worth!

  16. June 18, 2012 at 6:18 pm

wenger shud leave RVP and buy Giroud it think poldoski can play at wing, den dat means we will av 2 centre striker.den loan all d remaining floop including charmark,Park,Betner,Vella. Let denilsi back and buy yan m’villa………….i think we can get trophies in next season.
