At 10.30 tomorrow morning, Arsene Wenger will sit down with Robin van Persie and chief executive Ivan Gazidis to begin discussions about the future playing career of the 28-year old Dutch master. Of course, Arsenal are desperate to keep their captain who added two player of the year awards to his Premier league Golden Boot. With just a year left on his current deal, Arsenal will need to tie Van Persie to the club or risk letting another top player finish his contract and leave on a free transfer.
It is thought that the Gunners will offer the star striker a resigning payment of £5 million plus a weekly wage of around £130,000. Italian newspaper La Stampa has reported that van Persie’s agent Kees Vos held talks with representatives of Juventus at a hotel in Turin on Friday, during which they offered a four year deal worth £6 million per year. Juventus have just been crowned Italian champions but look set to lose their long standing striker Alessandro Del Piero.
Manchester City are rumoured to be willing to offer van Persie a staggering £250,000 per week but Arsenal do not want to lose him, especially to a league rival. The Gunners, according to Metro, would demand a transfer fee in the region of £25 million. The player’s family are happy where they are and are keen for him to stay at Arsenal. Let’s hope he listens to them.

25m?!!!! are yu crazy? Anyway, it’s up to rvp. if he stays he will become an arsenal legend. He leaves and he becomes another Nasri who will never command any respect frm Arsenal fans
To Juvetus??? No. Arsenal is a better team. Juventus or the old lady as they are called are made up of old men and will go no where. If RVP is to leae Arsenal, he should go to Real madrid or Barcelona. City? formoney, yes, for football no. City will never have a lengend as most players are there for the very high wages
lol, like Arsenal are going to give other clubs permission to speak to their under contract player, especially before discussing a new contract with him themselves.
Please think hard about what I’ve just said here.
If the agent has spoken to Juventus like you claim, UEFA would be docking points from Juventus AND fining the club, possibly relegating them and expelling them from the Champions League next season.
Are you starting to see how ludicrous this claim is?
Without the permission of Arsenal, no club can legally speak to Van Persie or his representatives until January 2013.
Lets hope wenger buys quality players and rvp wil stay
@Odu:
Do you not know the average age of the Juventus team?
Its 27?
Old men right…….hmm
And going knowhere, theyve just won Serie A unbeaten and are now signing yet more quality to win the Champions League….
