Arsenal are reportedly considering a big money move for Spain international forward Marco Asensio, according to the Express.
The Premier League side, who took a trip to Anfield this afternoon to challenge Liverpool in the top-flight, have been linked with a spectacular late summer move for the Real Madrid starlet before next Thursday’s transfer window deadline.
Thee 21-year-old, who has been three times for his country, has already bagged two goals in four games for the defending La Liga champions this season – a goal apiece in the Supercopa legs against rivals FC Barcelona.
Asensio, who signed for the Spanish giants from Mallorca back in December 2014, has found the net 12 times and provided further four assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Zinedine Zidane’s side overall.
However, the report suggests The Gunners are preparing to meet the winger’s extraordinary £75m buy-out clause, with the Spaniard seeking more first-team opportunities.
Asensio has already rejected a move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer transfer window, whilst Serie A outfit Inter Milan have also been linked with the forward.
Arsenal have already smashed their club-record transfer buy this summer, splashing out an initial £46.5m for striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
