Wenger’s French Midfielder Target Is Slipping Away

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger might encounter tough competition in the summer if he will decide to revive his interest in Rennes’ defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila.

Arsenal were interested in the French international for a few years now, but their summer move for the young star was snubbed by Rennes who wanted to make use of him for another season and then sell him after the EURO 2012 where his appearance in the French shirt will add a lot to his transfer fee.

According to Napoli officials they are highly interested in the defensive midfielder who is also wanted by European giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

“He is a player we have been following for many years.”, said Napoli’s sporting director Riccardo Bignon

“He is a player that is being watched by clubs from all over Europe. Everyone knows how good he is.”

Currently Arsene Wenger only has Coquelin to cover for Song if the defensive midfielder gets injured and with Frimpong’s horrible injury they won’t have any better answers to this problem any time soon so the Frenchman would better start the official inquiries if he wants to make sure that he still stands a chance to transfer M’Vila. Do you think that the French midfielder could really help Arsenal out?

as much as most disagree, i would get m’vila and sell song. song has been too inconsistent, like walcott. both of them are great when they are on hot form, but cant play most of the time.

Hm, where to start? Mvilla is probably beter than Song but he needs to be paired with someone in the mould of Vieira- someone who has a bite like Marek Hamsich or Eden Hazard to provide a thrust forward. Remember when we tore teams apart with a midfield that was hard as metal and sharper than a razor? Then upfront we need deadly striker not Bendtner like, no good, who miss sitters.

At the back we need a proper back 4 who can defend and fight until the end which should’nt be difficult with Steve Bould as asst manager coz these yes men Wenger has are absolute pants.
