Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger seems to be interested in Benfica’s defensive midfielder Javi Garcia according to The Mail. The former Real Madrid player is now 24-years-old and has show huge skill since joining the Portuguese side.
We all know how big a need Wenger has for a top quality midfielder, and Garcia is proving to be just that. Although he’s not yet a member of the senior Spanish national squad, Garcia played for every youth squad since the U-16.
The Spaniard joined Benfica in 2009, and how he would seem ready to leave the club for the right kind of offer. The transfer fee is rumoured to be around £20 million judging by the fact that the Portuguese paid €7 million for him two seasons ago when he was brought from Real Madrid.
Now the player became an interesting target not only for Arsenal, but also for Manchester United and Italian side AC Milan. He is expected to leave Portugal in January, but a destination is still unknown and the player has yet to comment on this.
